A warm, happy, safe and friendly atmosphere where children feel confident to be themselves

Our nursery is set in 62 acres of parkland and provides an ideal setting in which children can develop long lasting friendships

Our team of qualified and experienced staff plan the daily activities, which can be themed and topic based.

The playrooms are divided into areas where the children can concentrate on one activity at a time, for example:

Art and Craft Activities
Messy Play
Modelling and Construction
Cutting and Sticking
Quiet Area
Story Corner
Role Play Activities
Puzzles and Games
Matching and Sorting
Computer

We have a specialist music teacher who visits the nursery on a regular basis to sing songs with the children and introduce them to musical instruments.

The pre-school children experience drama related activities throughout the year.

We also produce two concerts a year in which all the children participate.

The pre-school children have the opportunity to attend swimming lessons once a week.

They are also introduced to French on a regular basis and are encouraged to use simple French words while going about their usual nursery activities.

We provide breakfast, lunch and tea with all meals being freshly prepared by our cooks in the nursery kitchen.

We can accommodate any special dietary requirements.

Our Aims

To provide a positive, caring and secure environment where each individual child counts.

To create a warm, happy, safe and friendly atmosphere where children feel confident to be themselves.

To stimulate young minds and to encourage learning and development through play.

To build effective partnerships between staff and parents, and build upon past learning experiences.

To support children developing relationships with staff and peers.

To deliver a curriculum and care programme which promotes independence and maximises the strengths of the individual child.

To give all children, regardless of ability, gender, race or religion an equal opportunity to be educated and cared for.

To sustain a commitment from all staff to carry out evaluation of their practice and nursery procedures.

To ensure all staff are committed to continuing their personal professional development.

To encourage the participation by staff and children, in an organised Eco schools project.  Within this project we encourage global awareness.

Our Philosophy

We believe that care and education are integral.

We believe that children are best supported when parents and staff work together.

Our curriculum is play-based, because we feel that children learn best through supported play.
We believe that children need to be respected in order to respect.

We believe that the learning environment must be planned to ensure that children are provided with rich and stimulating experiences, to build on what they already know and can do.

We will support the children to use the resources and the environment in a way that will develop their independence and problem solving skills.

We will help the children to build positive relationships with other children and adults.

In order to foster the children’s positive sense of self and self esteem, we will ensure that the experiences, family background, interests, abilities and cultural heritage will be positively celebrated and reflected across the service.

We believe that it is very important to provide staff with training and development opportunities so that they, in turn, can provide the children with effective learning and teaching.

We endeavour to network with other professionals for the benefit of the service.

We seek to be a part of the local community, accessing local resources, so that the children have a sense of connection and belonging.

These principles apply to every part of our service.
